Contents of the File menu

The Toolbox is the heart of the GIMP. It contains the most commonly used controls, and the highest-level menus. The File menu can also be accessed from the menubars located above each image display, although their contents are somewhat different.

[Note] Note

Besides the commands described here, you may also find other entries in the menu. They are not part of GIMP itself, but have been added by extensions (plug-ins). You can find information about the functionality of a Plugin by referring to its documentation.
